THERMAL SPRING KAREL

THERMAL SPRING KAREL

Velké Losiny is not only known for its famous thermal baths, but also for the unique cold mineral spring Karel, which is located in the spa park. This spring not only has an interesting history, but also great health benefits, thanks to which it has won the hearts of many visitors.

History of spring Karel

The Karel spring is most often associated with Dr. Hans Lorenz, who contributed greatly to its popularization. In 1884 he designed and promoted the construction of a charming wooden gazebo over the spring, which still stands today as a reminder of this historic era. Four years later, in 1888, he officially purchased the spring on behalf of the spa and named it in honour of the then owner of the estate - Charles of Liechtenstein.

Attributes of the spring

Unlike the hot thermal springs that are famous in the area, Karel Spring is a cold mineral spring with a temperature of around 11 °C. Its water is rich in minerals such as calcium, sodium, magnesium, potassium and iron, making it an ideal choice for drinking cures, which have been popular for centuries for their healing properties. Karel Spring has a characteristic hydrogen sulphide smell, which is typical of sulphur springs.

Healing effects and recommendation

The minerals in the water can help treat digestive problems, stimulate liver and gallbladder function, and promote detoxification.

Karel Spring is not only a source of physical refreshment, but also a place where visitors can relax and recharge their batteries. The pleasant ambience of the wooden gazebo, located near the thermal park, is an ideal place to relax and enjoy this unique water.

If you find yourself in Velké Losiny, do not miss a visit to the Karel Spring. Not only will you drink water with a rich mineral composition, but you will also be reminded of the history that is firmly linked to this place. Karel Spring is a great proof that nature and history can be great partners in health care.
